Accessibility Statement

As of 18 September 2026

Scope

This statement applies to the website www.ini-hannover.de operated by INI – International Neuroscience Institute® Hannover GmbH, Rudolf-Pichlmayr-Strasse 4, 30625 Hannover, Germany.

Legal basis and current status

The relevant rules are the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and the requirements set out in Annex 3 to the BFSG. As a technical benchmark we use the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

We are working to make this website accessible. The website is currently partially compliant with the requirements. We do not claim full conformance, because not all pages, images and documents have been reviewed and revised yet.

Known limitations

Photographs of people. Some photographs have no alternative text or only a placeholder. Where no portrait is available, an empty area remains.

Text size on mobile devices. On small screens the body text is set too small and too tight in places.

Language versions. Some content is available in German only or in English only.

PDF documents. PDF files provided for download may not be prepared in an accessible form.

Map view. There is no embedded map. For data protection reasons we replaced it with a link to the map service. The address is also given as text on the page.

Videos. Videos have no subtitles. The background video on the home page has no sound and can be paused.

We are fixing these points step by step. Most recently on 18 September 2026: zoom unlocked, contrast increased, visible focus indicator, skip link to the main content, background video can be paused.

What has already been done

Zoom. The page can be enlarged up to 400 per cent. The former zoom lock has been removed.

Keyboard operation. All controls that can be reached with the keyboard show a visible focus indicator.

Skip link. A link at the top of the page leads straight to the main content.

Reduced motion. The system setting "reduce motion" is honoured. The background video is then replaced by a still image.

Contrast. Text reaches a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1.

No consent barrier. No cookie or tracking consent is requested. There is no consent dialogue blocking access to the content.

Language switch. Every page can be switched between German and English.
