Brain Tumor Research
Precision medicine and innovative therapeutic strategies for tumors of the central nervous system
Description
The Brain Tumor Research Program at INI Hannover integrates clinical neurosurgery, neuropathology, molecular research, advanced imaging and data-driven analysis. Its goal is to characterize brain tumors more precisely from both a biological and imaging perspective, to quantify disease trajectories and to translate these findings into individualized diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
A particular focus is the integration of high-resolution imaging with histopathological, molecular and genetic information. Advanced surgical techniques, intraoperative imaging, functional mapping and neurophysiological monitoring are combined with quantitative image analysis and increasingly with AI-based methods.
The program therefore covers the entire translational pathway, from biological tumor characterization and preoperative planning to surgical treatment and objective long-term follow-up.
