Preparing for Your Visit
Appointment Management
Taking the first step towards your care at INI Hannover is simple. This section provides all the information you need to request and schedule an appointment in our Outpatient Clinic.
Appointments can be arranged either directly by you or through a referral from your treating physician. Whether you are a local resident or an international patient, you will find clear instructions on how to submit your inquiry, what medical information is needed, and who to contact. Our appointment management team is ready to guide you through the process.
Necessary Documents
To ensure our specialists can thoroughly prepare for your consultation and provide a comprehensive evaluation,
we kindly ask you to gather the following necessary documents.
Medical Documents (Required for All Patients)

Recent medical reports from your treating physicians (e.g., neurologist, neurosurgeon, general practitioner)04
Results of relevant previous diagnostic tests (e.g., blood tests, laboratory findings)05
A referral letter from your physician (Überweisungsschein), if applicable
Important Note on Imaging
Please bring not only the written reports but also the actual image data from any previous MRI, CT, or angiography scans. This data should be on a CD, DVD, USB drive or via a QR code. Our specialists need to review the images directly for a thorough assessment.

For Patients with German / EU Statutory or Private Health Insurance:

For International Patients and Self-Payers:

If applicable, a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) from an embassy or insurance provider confirming coverage and direct billing04

Note for International Patients
To facilitate a swift and accurate review, please provide medical reports and documents in either English or German, or have them accompanied by a certified translation.
Good to Know
- Arrival & Registration Please arrive a little early for your appointment to allow time for registration and preparation. Our reception team will be happy to assist you.
- What to Bring Bring all relevant medical reports, imaging (MRI, CT, X-rays), and a list of your current medications. If you are on special medication (e.g., blood thinners), please let us know in advance.
- Companions Welcome Family members or friends are welcome to accompany you. Our staff can provide guidance on nearby accommodations and services for your companions.
- Interpreter Services If you don’t feel comfortable in German or English, interpreter services can be arranged — please let us know in advance so we can prepare.
- Meals & Dining We provide fresh meals daily, prepared in-house, with vegetarian, vegan, halal, and kosher options available on request.
- Outpatient Stay Most outpatient procedures are completed within the same day. Please arrange for someone to accompany you home, especially if anesthesia or sedation is involved.
- Comfort & Facilities Our building is fully accessible and designed with comfort in mind. A café, quiet areas, and modern patient lounges are available for you and your family.
- Payment & Insurance We work with international insurers and also provide self-pay options. Please contact our patient services team for details before your visit.
- Travel & Transport INI Hannover is well connected by public transport and close to Hannover Airport. Airport pick-up services can be arranged upon request.
- After Your Visit Your doctor will provide a written summary and, if needed, prescriptions or further instructions. Follow-up appointments can often be arranged online or via telemedicine.
