Patient Advocates

We encourage open communication. If you have any issues you wish to discuss, our Patient Advocate provides an impartial and supportive resource to ensure your voice is heard and your rights are respected.

A trusted, neutral contact – when clarity, understanding, and support are needed.

At the International Neuroscience Institute Hannover, we are dedicated to delivering world-class medical care with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and personal attention. In the course of complex treatments and interactions, there may be moments where patients or family members feel unsure, misunderstood, or simply in need of additional explanation and support.

This is where the Patient Advocate comes in.

Independent. Neutral. Respectful.

The Patient Advocate is not part of the hospital staff and is not on the INI payroll. As an external and independent individual, the advocate serves as a neutral point of contact, offering an open ear and objective guidance – particularly when patients feel they need help navigating a situation that has become unclear, uncomfortable, or unresolved.

  • The role This role is not designed for routine questions or administrative tasks, but rather for moments where communication has become difficult or a patient’s perspective has not been fully understood. Often, it simply takes time, explanation, and respectful conversation to restore trust and clarity.
  • The goal The advocate’s goal is to facilitate understanding and find constructive, respectful solutions – always with the patient’s dignity and well-being at the center.
  • What the Patient Advocate does
  1. Listens attentively and without judgment
  2. Maintains confidentiality and independence
  3. Helps clarify misunderstandings or communication barriers
  4. Supports respectful dialogue between patients and care teams
  5. Offers guidance on next steps – always in agreement with the patient

Please note

In his role as Patient Advocate, he does not provide medical advice. He is also not responsible for everyday hospital services, scheduling, or administrative tasks.

Consultations by appointment via email or telephone.
